Rodrigue acquires American history and criminology books for Southern Illinios University Press. She is interested in historical studies of inequalities, disabilities, labor, crime, prisons, and marginalized groups, particularly those set in the Midwest, as well as studies of American military culture and Civil War history and memory. She is happy to work with both first-time and established authors inside and outside the academy. If your work falls into one of these areas, contact Rodrigue to discuss the possibility of publishing your manuscript with SIU Press
Editorial Consulting, Copy Editing, and Proofreading
Editorial consulting includes developmental editing and consulting on a wide variety of editorial matters, from what acquisitions editors look for to how to structure a book proposal. Copy editing involves electronic markup of MS Word files to correct matters of grammar and style. Proofreading entails a careful reading of typeset pages or manuscript pages to point out typographical errors and errors of style, with The Chicago Manual of Style as the main reference. Rodrigue is available for hire at an hourly rate for these services.
