My goal through Sylverlining is to aid authors of nonfiction articles and books. I enjoy assisting authors who strive to clarify, simplify, and finesse their writing. My services include helping you prepare a book proposal, strengthening your manuscript through judicious editing, editing your notes and bibliography, and proofreading your text. In addition, I can serve as a coach as you work through the publishing process. My experience includes both trade and university press publishing, and I have worked with authors of history, military studies, political science, and literary studies as well as authors of poetry and books on gardening.
I also acquire new books for publication by Southern Illinois University Press about the American Civil War. We publish the following topics: Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, military history of the western theater, legal history, Illinois topics and regimental studies, the midwest and the border states, Reconstruction, and gender, race, and medicine. If your work falls into one of these areas, contact me to discuss the possibility of publishing your manuscript with SIU Press.
